Lazarus was ill, dying, and his sisters, Mary and Martha, had sent word to Jesus, counting on Him to drop everything and help them by healing their brother. They waited, and waited, but no Jesus. When He did arrive, it was too late. Lazarus was dead and buried. How did Mary and Martha feel about Jesus at that point? Did He meet their expectations? Does He meet ours? Or, does Jesus have a better plan?

Greg McCollam is an ordained American Baptist minister and the former pastor of Walnut Hills Baptist Church in Cincinnati. A West Virginia native, and a graduate of the University of Charleston (WV), he has been a guest preacher at many churches and has led Bible studies and chapel services at meetings, nursing homes and even a racetrack. He also worked in the marketing departments of both the Indiana Pacers and Cincinnati Reds. He and his wife, Jan, are the parents of three children (Erin, Kelly and Jordan) and the grandparents of two (Reese and Brayden).
